On Friday, March 27, 2026, the angels came and carried Alvin Lewis Davis Jr. home, no doubt in a shining drop top chariot, riding smooth just the way he loved, like one of his old school Cadillacs, complete with style, sound, and presence.
He was residing in Columbus, Ohio at the time of his passing and departed this life at Grant Medical Center in Columbus.
A proud native of the south side of Youngstown, particularly down the hill (DTH), Alvin Lewis Davis Jr., affectionately called “Boobie” by family and friends, was born on June 22, 1972, to the late Alvin L. Davis Sr. and Mrs. Jacqueline S. Davis.
He attended South High School and proudly graduated in 1990. From a young age, he showed determination, charisma, and an entrepreneurial spirit that would leave a lasting mark on everyone around him.
A Master Barber and car dealer, Alvin built a legacy through hard work and vision. He owned several businesses in Youngstown, Columbus, and Atlanta, including the well known establishment, The Barbershop, and Baggs II Riches, which he co owned with Darren Hall. In Columbus, Ohio, he also owned and operated a car wash and a car lot, further expanding his footprint as a businessman.
He had a deep love for old school cars, especially Cadillacs, often customized with rims and sound systems that reflected his personality: bold, smooth, and unforgettable.
Alvin poured into his community in countless ways. Alongside Darren Hall, he helped build a basketball team, and he dedicated his time as a football coach for the Redmen Little League football team, guiding and uplifting young athletes. He was a proud member of the Afro Dogs Motorcycle Club and served as President of the Columbus, Ohio chapter, where he built strong bonds of brotherhood.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Teffany T. Davis; his children: Alvin L. Davis III, Alveonna Davis, Alviniesha Davis, and Felicia Shavers, all of Columbus, Ohio; Tristan Fleetion of Youngstown, Ohio; his stepchildren Tyrone and Tawaun Gordon of Youngstown, Ohio, and Lance Lynch of Columbus, Ohio; his grandchildren, all of Columbus, Ohio: Alise, Taleah, Imani, Cash, and LaNiyah; also Aliviah, Avery, Baby Ty, Ty’Rique, and Tawaun, all of Youngstown, Ohio; his baby sister, Melissa Davis of Youngstown, Ohio. Alvin also held a special place in his heart for Ciera Clinkscale, Daniesha Wainwright, and Leondre Glenn, all of Columbus, Ohio, and Jordan Clinkscale of Columbus, Ohio, along with a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carrie Mae Stearnes, Clayton Davis, Thelma Aldridge, and Cicero B. Aldridge; his parents, Alvin L. Davis Sr. and Jacqueline S. Davis; his stepdaughter, Te’Erai Gordon; his favorite uncles, Johnny Stearnes and Frederick Davis; his twin sisters, Alvannetta and Angela Davis; and a host of loved ones who have gone on before him.
Alvin will be remembered for his style, his hustle, his leadership, and the love he gave so freely. His legacy rides on in every life he touched, every lesson he shared, and every memory that will forever echo like music down the street.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 11:30 am until the time of funeral service at 12:00 pm at Third Baptist Church, 1177 Park Hill Drive, Youngstown, Ohio.
