IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Andrew Jerry
Jeter Sr.
September 27, 1938 – April 18, 2025
Andrew Jerry Jeter Sr. was a hardworking and devoted man who retired from Weirton Steel after more than 50 years of dedicated service. He was an avid sports fan, with the Pittsburgh Steelers being his favorite team. During his college years, he participated in ROTC. Andrew also had a love for reading, particularly western novels, and western movies remained among his favorites throughout his life.
He was the only son among eight children born to the late Coyet and Fanny (Gist) Jeter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Teresa Jeter, and siblings Louella Wortham, Gladis Wade, and Jaquelin Simpson.
Andrew leaves to cherish his memory his loving siblings: Lillian Washington, Loretta Lee, Viola Mitchell, and Corrie Young; his devoted children: Adrian (Dawn) Jeter, Angela Jeter, Andrew (Michelle) Jeter, and Kimberly Kelley. Affectionately known to many as "Uncle Jerry," he was also a proud grandfather to Adrian Jeter, Clarissa Jeter, Jai Jeter, Jordan Jeter, Teresa Jeter, Selwyn Ellis Jr., and Stefan Nash. He was blessed with four great-grandchildren: Jacqueline Jeter, Wyatt Jeter, Selwyn Ellis III, and Kashmire Ellis. A host of extended family and friends also remain to mourn his passing.
Andrew was a faithful member of St. Peter's A.M.E. Church. He loved making people laugh, cooking for his family—especially his famous beef hash at family reunions—and showing love, care, and generosity to everyone he met. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
