IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Annie Ruth
Saxton
April 22, 1951 – January 11, 2023
Annie Ruth Saxton was born April 22, 1951, in Steubenville, Ohio, to the union of Berry and Carrine Jeter. She passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, in the comfort of her home.
Annie was well-loved and admired by her family and friends. She would go out of her way to encourage others. She was outspoken and enjoyed joking around. More importantly, she loved to spend time with her family and friends.
She liked going fishing and bowling. She enjoyed going to the casino, shopping, and going out to eat. She liked watching the Pittsburgh Steelers play and more importantly, watching them beat the Cleveland Browns.
She spent most of her free time playing, dancing, singing, and laughing with her granddaughter, Makenna. They would go to nearby parks, amusement parks, and often shop in downtown Pittsburgh. Makenna was one of the most significant people in her life alongside her only son John Anthony. She treasured them both dearly.
Annie's faith in God was remarkably strong. She loved the Lord with her whole heart and soul. She placed him first in everything she did. She always said, "He's the author", and "he has the final say in everything I do."
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Berry "Tooty" Jeter; one niece, Ashley Brown; and her companion of several years, William Randy Banister.
Left behind to honor and cherish her memory are her devoted son John Anthony Saxton; her beautiful granddaughter Makenna Saxton; her loving sister Carolyn (Levarga "Lou") Brown; a sister-in-law Richelle Jeter; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Mohammad Rahman and his staff at Trinity Medical Center.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 21, 2023, from 10:00 am until the time of Annie's life celebration, 12 :00 p.m., at the GREGORY-MARTIN CHAPEL, 255 S. 7th Street in Steubenville, Ohio. Interment will follow at Paris Cemetery in Paris, Pennsylvania.
