Barbara Holmes was born February 4, 1948, in Steubenville, Ohio, to the union of Arthur Sr., and Mattie Culbreath.

On Thursday, February 17, 2022, Barbara passed away peacefully at the Carriage Inn of Steubenville.

Barbara was a Christian by faith. She was a homemaker, and very family-oriented. She enjoyed spending quality time with her children and grandchildren who were her pride and joy. She enjoyed crocheting and singing. She was very welcoming and liked to clown a lot. She will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Sr., and Mattie Culbreath; her husband, Frank Holmes; and five siblings, Arthur, Mamie, Bert, Raymond, and Arlene.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Joseph L. (Newita) Jones, and Dean L. Jones; grandchildren, Ladeanna Lampkin-McKissick, Loreal Payton, Joseph Jones III, and Marcus Robinson, three siblings, Reverend Patricia Angel, Clarance Culbreath, and Jeanette Archie; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Public Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at the GREGORY-MARTIN CHAPEL, 255 S. 7th Street in Steubenville, Ohio.
