Berry "Bump" Jeter, 95, of Weirton, West Virginia passed away on December 16, 2017, at Carriage Inn in Steubenville, Ohio. He was born on December 20, 1921 in Carlisle, South Carolina, the second of five children born to the late George and Azilee Jeter. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Carrine who passed away in 1985, a son, Berry, Jr., two sisters, Helen Caldwell and Annie Hill, two brothers, Leonard and William Jeter and a great-granddaughter, Ashley Brown.
Berry was a retiree of National Steel where he worked for more than 30 years as a helper on the blast furnace. He was a Christian by faith, a devoted father, and a kind-spirited person. In his earlier years, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed gardening and daily chit-chat about sports with his favorite son-in-law, Levarga "Lou" Brown.
Berry will be remembered by his loving, devoted daughters, Carolyn (Levarga "Lou") Brown and Annie R. Saxton both of Weirton , seven grandchildren, John Anthony (Molly) Saxton who along with his mother Annie resided with him, Levarga, Jr. (Bianca) Brown of North Carolina, Jeff (Darlene) Brown of Weirton, Stacey (Tony) Smith of Weirton, Berry, III (Ann) Jeter of Akron, Ohio, Derrick Jeter of Akron, Ohio and Amber (Sean) Patterson of Akron, Ohio, fifteen great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, a daughter-in-law, Richelle Jeter of Akron, Ohio, a loving companion and friend, Edna Jones , a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
