Carol Jean Barnett, 22, was born in Steubenville, Ohio on December 4, 1999, to Raymond Barnett III., and Samantha Ayers. She and her unborn daughter were tragically taken on May 26, 2022.

CJ, as she was lovingly known, was a Christian by faith. She began attending La Belle View Church of Christ at a young age. She attended and graduated from Steubenville "Big Red" High School. She was a hard worker and began her career with Dairy Queen. Her hard work paid off and she became a Shift Leader.

CJ loved outside and nature. She was a natural at swimming and really enjoyed being in the water. Her fishing trips with her father were some of her best memories. She was a good person who absolutely loved her family. She liked being with her friends. CJ had a remarkably beautiful bond with her niece, Summer.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Raymond Barnett Sr., and Barbara (Wire) White; and maternal grandparents Harvey and Carol Ayers.

She is survived by her parents Raymond Barnett III., and Samantha Ayers; siblings Raymond Barnett III., Donna Jeffries, Tammy Ayers, James Barnett, Timothy Barnett, and Zadia Barnett; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral service, 1:00 pm at the GREGORY-MARTIN CHAPEL, 255 S. 7th Street in Steubenville, Ohio. CJ will be laid to rest with her unborn daughter at Union Cemetery in Steubenville.
