Carol Hopings Gregory, age 84, peacefully entered eternal rest on Friday, December 20, 2024. Born on February 27, 1940, to the late Pearl Steward of Detroit, Michigan, and the late Elmer Hopings of Toledo, Ohio, Carol lived a life of grace, love, and unwavering faith.

Carol was married to the love of her life, Fletcher "Pim" Gregory of Weirton, West Virginia, for 52 beautiful years. Together, they created a home filled with love, laughter, and devotion, and were proud members of Second Baptist Church of Steubenville, Ohio. Their union was blessed with one cherished son, Christopher.

Carol dedicated 30 years of service to Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, retiring in 2003. She will be remembered for her vivacious spirit and passions: the joy of shopping, the thrill of vacations, her enthusiasm for Big Red football, and, most importantly, her devotion to spoiling her son and grandson.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her beloved husband, "Pim." She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength in the hearts of those who survive her: her devoted son, Christopher Gregory I; her adored grandson, Christopher Gregory II; her loving brother, Keith Steward; and her dear cousin, Terri Tillman Dixon.

Carol's vibrant presence and kind heart will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though we mourn her loss, we find comfort in the promise of her reunion with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

A celebration of Carol's life will be held at The Gregory-Martin Chapel, 255 S. 7th Street, Steubenville, Ohio, on Monday, December 30, 2024. The viewing will take place from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery in Steubenville.

As we reflect on Carol's remarkable life, we hold onto the words of 1 Corinthians 15:55: "Where, O death, is your victory?
