Obituary

Carol Linda Simon (Linnie) was born March 21, 1958, to the union of the late John and Ida Mae Simon.

Linda was a graduate of Steubenville High School with the class of 1976. She dedicated her life to the love and care of others. Her passion for caring for the elderly and disabled brought her joy and eminence throughout her life.

Her most cherished and beloved gift to this world is her son Darnell. She loved him more than life itself and nothing meant more to her than him. Although she was only blessed with one child, she shared a motherly bond with her nieces Karrie and Jessica as well. Her love for them knew no bounds and their love for her left nothing to be desired.

Linda found enjoyment in her family and friends. Whether it was their trips to Tappan Lake or their constant barbecues on Summit Ave. She hosted every birthday party, holiday event, or special occasion. She was the definition of Hostess with the Mostess. She was a lover of Syfy classics like The Twilight Zone, Alfred Hitchcock, and a slew of horror films.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Leymone (Lighting) Blanchard, one brother Eddie (Bubba) Simon, one sister Alma (Jeannie) Simon, and one great-nephew Derrick (Debo) Williams.

On Wednesday, December 22, 2021, Linda's path lead her back to her sister and the loved ones that went and prepared a place for her. While she has transitioned in life to carry on with her loved ones in heaven, she leaves behind so many fond memories and love to carry us through.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted son Ira Darnell Simon of Steubenville 3 Grandchildren Najeh Simon, Zakhira Williams, Nadia Kizito, one brother John (Doonie) Simon of Steubenville, two cherished nieces Karrie Leppert of Steubenville, Jessica Lytle of Columbus, five admired nephews Eddie Reed of Columbus, Elec Simon of Canton, Kyle Leppert of Kentucky, Elijah Simon of Steubenville, two Special greats Nassir Muhammad, Alieyonna Williams and a host of many more. She also leaves behind her closest friend of 45 years Jamie Saunders.

She will be sadly missed by all of those whose lives she touched with her cheerful presence.
