Catherine Beatrice Scruggs Platt was born January 15, 1921 and transitioned on November 11, 2015.
She was preceded in death by her parents Leslie Scruggs and Jennie Clark McDaniels and beloved uncle Percy and aunt Nellie Owens who raised her; her loving husband of 68 years Franklin Thomas Platt, and their precious daughter Irene Nellie Platt; two brothers Leslie "Buddy" Scruggs and Delbert Owens, two sisters Irene Johnson and Wilma Scruggs St Clair.
She leaves to cherish her memory four daughters: Valerie Caldwell, Jacqueline Platt, Sharlene (Arnold) Mitchell and Carletta Williams, two sons; George (Tina) Platt and Craig (Theresa) Platt, a sister; Frances (Harvey) Doggett, three brothers Conway Owens, Wayne (Barbara) Owens, and Rolland (Betty) Owens, fifteen grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and one great great grand child; her special nephew and niece, Jon and Mary Barnes who lovingly called her "Miss Kitty"
Catherine was a life long member of Second Baptist Church and a lifetime member of Jefferson Naomi Temple #123 I.B.P.O.E. of W. She graduated from Wells High School class of 1939 with honors. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Big Red football fan. She loved watching The Young and the Restless and Judge Judy. She was an insurance agent for Supreme Life and was bar manager of Prince Albert Lodge #232 where she was known as Mom to many sons and daughters.
