Obituary
Chrystal Janell Smith was born on October 2, 1950 to the late Walter Childs and Mary Kathryn (Cole) Hunter in Steubenville, Ohio.
Janell, as she was affectionately known, was Baptist by faith and grew up in Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was educated in the Steubenville City School System.
She was a Nurse's Assistant and loved caring for others. Janell was a very loving mother and believed that discipline builds character. She was dependable and a mother that later became a great friend.
On August 8, 2012 Janell gently passed away at Trinity Medical Center. She will be forever missed by her family: She is survived by her loving family: her mother Kate Hunter, Children; Ricky L. and LaDonna Smith, siblings; Rosemary (Isaiah) Culbreath, Grace (Melvin) Creech, Vernon, Gary, Annette and Juanita Childs and Curtis and Joslyn Taylor, her grandchildren; Ashley and Sabrina Gregory, Zhanterra Smith and Zi'aira West,a great granddaughter that she adored; Amira Fogle a dear sister-friend; Gail Johnson, and a host of other relatives.
Services are Sat., Aug. 11th at Williams, Gregory and Martin Funeral Service, 411 N. 7th St. The family will receive friends at 2:00PM the funeral will follow at 2:30PM.
