Obituary

Miss Clemmie, as she was lovingly called, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2018, surrounded by her dear family. She was born on Thursday, June 1, 1922, in Georgia. Clemmie was the daughter of the union of the late James and Julia (née Moreland) Moore.
She was a Christian by faith and a devoted member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She enjoyed going to church functions and get-togethers.  She was a sharp dresser and Miss Clemmie was known for her Sunday Best Suits and her Fancy Hats.

When Miss Clemmie was able, she was very active in the community. She was a Past President of the American Legion Auxillary Post 274 and a member of the Elks.

She engaged children and her fondness for them showed during her many years with the Steubenville City Schools as a teacher's assistant. She had a wonderful sense of humor and could tell a funny story.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie; daughter, Doreatha Mitchell, and one great-grandchild, Stephen Mitchell, Jr.;
She is survived by her grandchildren, Tara Mitchell, Ernest Mitchell, III, Stephen Mitchell, Sr., and Michael Mitchell; 6 great-grandchildren, a host of loving nieces and nephews that helped her, and many other relatives and dear friends.
