Corrie Young, lovingly known by her maiden name Jeter, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026, at the age of 89. She was born on July 28, 1936, in Weirton, West Virginia, to the late Coyet and Corrie (Carrie) Jeter.

Corrie was a proud graduate of Weirton High School and later attended Wrights Beauty College, where she became a skilled nail technician. She dedicated 37 years of service to General Motors, where her strong work ethic and commitment left a lasting impact.

A woman of faith, Corrie spent many years at Wayman Chapel AME Church, where she became well known for her beautiful and bold hats that reflected her vibrant personality. She later attended Fountain of Life Word and Worship Center.

Corrie was full of life and personality. She enjoyed dressing well, traveling, and spending time with family. She loved talking on the phone with her sisters, engaging in arts and crafts, and had a passion for music, especially Al Green and Johnnie Taylor. She also enjoyed gambling and had a unique gift for “reading people.” Known for her generosity, Corrie had a very big heart and would give freely to those in need. At the same time, she was honest and direct, never hesitating to set things straight when necessary.

Above all, Corrie was a devoted mother, grandmother, and aunt. She loved her family deeply and took pride in making sure their needs were met. Her presence, guidance, and love will forever be cherished.

In addition to her parents, Corrie was preceded in death by her son, a son-in-law, two grandsons, and several siblings.

She leaves to cherish her memory the love of her life, Charles Young Sr.; her daughters, Lisa “Lisha” Young and Tonya Colbert (Deric); bonus daughter, Willa Dudley; her grandchildren, Shanika Bundrage (Michael), Jasamin Young, Tremont Dudley (Bing), and Tiffany Dudley; great-grandchildren, Legaci McBride and Jazlynn Young; three sisters; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones. She also leaves behind her lifelong bonus sister and best friend, Pearl Haile.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the Gregory-Martin Funeral Home, Steubenville Chapel, 255 S. 7th Street in Steubenville, from 12:30 p.m. until the time of her Life Celebration at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
