Dan Thompson was born in Steubenville, Ohio on April 10, 1967, to Michael Lee Thornton and Donna Thompson. He passed away on August 13, 2022, in Steubenville, Ohio.

Dan enjoyed landscaping. He was an avid sports fan. Florida State and the Los Angeles Chargers were two of his favorite teams.

Dan liked having fun and being around his family and friends. He enjoyed get-togethers and playing cards and dominos. He had a true passion for cooking. More than anything, he loved and adored his family and cherished every moment spent with them.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents William and Helen Thornton; maternal grandmother Genevieve Jackson; father Michael Lee Thornton; and one brother Kenneth Thomas.

He is survived by his mother Donna Thompson, father Arthur (Cecelia) Thompson; children Tasia Dodson, Danielle Thompson, Jonaka Wallace, Dan Michael Thompson, Hope Wallace, Asia Samuels, Nyzaire Thompson, and Diamond Thompson. ten grandchildren; Siblings Gregory Thomas of Steubenville, Gary Thomas of Steubenville, Tyrone Thomas of Steubenville, Tanya (James) Howard of Steubenville, Sherry Thompson of Steubenville, Arthur Thompson of Steubenville, Lyn Thornton of New York, Lucretia Talison of Columbus Ohio, Michael McGhee of North Carolina, Ramond (Shartia) Birden and Mykeyia Birden of Virginia, Marie Smith of Steubenville, Maurice and Rashad Thompson of Gary Indiana, and Michael S Thornton of Steubenville Ohio. Special brother Steve Lucas and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 19, 2022, from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral service, 12:00 p.m., at the Second Baptist Church, 717 Adams Street in Steubenville, Ohio. Minister Earlene McShan will deliver words of comfort. Interment to follow at Union Cemetery.
