Mrs. Daralyn Charise Cochran-Hollis, 52, of Akron, Ohio, passed away on May 16, 2026, following a brief illness.

Born on July 19, 1973, in Youngstown, Ohio, she was the daughter of Sally Cochran-Robinson and Rickie Cotton. Daralyn was known for her loving spirit, strong personality, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. She never hesitated to help those in need, whether by providing a meal, a listening ear, or a helping hand.

Daralyn attended Monroe Elementary School, Hillman Elementary School, Princeton Junior High School, and South High School. She enjoyed working with children and spent much of her life serving others through childcare, social work, customer service, The Salvation Army, Kroger, and other community-focused roles.

In 1991, she married the love of her life, Vernon Hollis. Together they built a beautiful family and shared 35 years of love, friendship, music, and memories.

She loved cooking, entertaining, singing, listening to Blues and R&B music, thrift shopping, sewing, decorating, and spending time with those she loved. A devoted fan of Betty Wright, she shared a passion for music with her husband and enjoyed expressing her creativity in many ways. Intelligent and outspoken, she enjoyed discussing current events and politics and embraced her culture with pride. Burnt orange was her favorite color.

In addition to her grandparents, Annie Lee Cochran and Willie V. Cochran, and Virginia Cotton and Benjamin Cotton, Daralyn was preceded in death by her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lorraine Green and Harold Kitchen; her stepfather, Rick Robinson; and her cherished friends, Erika Murrell and Tawanda Patterson.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 35 years, Vernon Hollis of Akron, Ohio; her sons, Vernon Hollis Jr. of Akron, Ohio and Emmanuel Hollis of Akron, Ohio; her mother, Sally (Rickie) Cochran-Robinson; her father, Rickie (Joan) Cotton of St. Saline, Texas; her sisters, Anniqua (Alex) Cochran of Akron, Ohio, Idia (Angelo) Cotton-Parrett of Charleston, South Carolina, Veronica (John) Hawkins of Richmond, Virginia, and Tamara (Clinshawn) Jackson of Hinesville, Georgia; her brothers, Bo (Jennifer) Cochran of Akron, Ohio, Daniel (Sarah) Cochran of Mineral City, Ohio, Eric Cochran of Youngstown, Ohio, Holland Betres of Warner Robins, Georgia, and Paris Cotton of Sumter, South Carolina; her dear friends, Lajecwell (Mike) Thomas of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, Carmen Williams of Columbus, Ohio, and Ladonya King-Pierce of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; along with a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 5, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 12:00 Noon at Third Baptist Church, 1177 Park Hill Drive, Youngstown, Ohio.
