David L. Collins was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on March 1, 1939.

He relocated to the Ohio Valley were he worked as a Coal Miner for many years. After he retired he worked for a few years with the railroad.

He was married to the late Helena Scurry together they reared five children; Estelle, Foster, Howard, Glenn and Katherine. He truly loved his family.

His memory will be forever be in the hearts of his family. He leaves to cherish him: his children; Estelle (Ernest) Mitchell, Foster (Stephine) Scurry, Howard (Marcella) Scurry, Glenn Scurry and Katherine Scurry, a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
