Obituary

Doris Fulton was born on June 2, 1924 in Rayland, Ohio to Maurice and Estella Matthews. She was one of six children which included two sets of twins.

Doris married at the tender age of eighteen and had a daughter, Joyce. She was soon widowed and in the 1940's it was commonplace for a woman to remarry to help her raise her children. She stood her ground and remained single until Joyce was raised, she was definitely an unintentional trend setter. She remarried later in life and had two children by that union, Gary and Elizabeth "Tedi". She was not perfect but she always showed her children love and was strong and compassionate.

Doris ran a successful cleaning business and truly enjoyed her craft. She was a fighter and fought cancer more than once and won. She was the strong silent type and it showed even with her battle with Alzheimer's Disease, a disease that took its toll on her and the family.

She longed for her relationship with her twin, Dora Harkins, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, a brother Benjamin Matthews, twin siblings; Louis Matthews and Louise Noble and another sister; Ruth Leisk.

Doris leaves to cherish her memory, a son Gary Fulton, three daughters; Joyce Virginia Wendt, Elizabeth "Tedi" McQuistion and Judy Greathouse , nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, a very dear friend and care provider; Debbie Gilday, a best friend; Theodora Guthie and a host of other relatives and friends.
