Elder Donald
D. Livingston
March 25, 1933 – July 1, 2020
Donald D. Livingston, 87, passed away July 1, 2020, in Pickerington, Ohio. He was born in Brilliant, Ohio to the union of John and Exie (Morris) Livingston.
After school, he met and married Betty Clowers and they enjoyed 51 years of marriage until her passing. Together they had four children, Anthony, Tempey, Donna Jo, and Kathy. Donald went to work in the mills and retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel. Donald was a hard worker and had a private hauling business for many years to help support his family.
He was called to serve the Lord and began service to the Lord in 1963. Ordained as an elder under Bishop Robert S. Fields, he was the founding pastor of Praise Temple COGIC. He served faithfully for many years until he retired from the pastorate on September 23, 2012. Later in life, he was blessed to remarry, District Missy Thelma Darnell of Akron, Ohio. She was dutiful in helping him travel back and forth from Akron to Steubenville to minister. Elder Livingston was a gracious worker for the Lord.
Elder Livingston was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty; a daughter, Donna Jo Allen; siblings, Ray, Aaron, Hosea, Ruth, and Eloise.
He is survived by his wife Thelma Livingston, his children, Tempey (Wesley) Long, Anthony (Terri) Jordan, Darla (Lester) Hyman and Kathy Goodwin; 11 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; a host of great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Paul Livingston; one sister, Janet Jeter; nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family, and dear friends.
Calling hours will be held 10 am until the time of his life celebration 12 noon on Friday, July 10, 2020, at the GREGORY-MARTIN CHAPEL AND LIFE EVENT CENTER, 255 S. 7th Street in Steubenville. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery.
