Eleanor Profit, 79, went to be with the Lord on February 11, 2020, at Trinity West Hospital after a lengthy stay at the Carriage Inn of Steubenville, Ohio.

She was born on September 24, 1940, in Steubenville, Ohio. She is the daughter of the late William Profit and Esther (Clark) Profit Davis. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Gloria Pullie, and Juanita Swearingen; two brothers, Samuel H. Profit, and William Profit; and one son, Richard Allen Profit.

Eleanor was educated in the Steubenville City School system and attended Steubenville "Big Red" High School. She was employed at Saint John's Hospital and the Carriage Inn of Steubenville until her retirement. Eleanor lived in Buffalo, New York; Columbus and Steubenville, Ohio, throughout her life.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, two children, James Profit and Florence Yvonne Profit; three sisters, Willie Belle Yates, of Buffalo, New York; Mary (John) Barnes and Mary Jane Brown, of Steubenville, Ohio; six grandchildren, Philippe Profit, Darnell Hill, Robert Christian, Jamie Montgomery, Norisa Huddleston, and Trey Profit; a host of great and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 17, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service 1:00 p.m. at Second Baptist Church, 717 Adams Street, Steubenville, Ohio. Arrangements entrusted to Gregory-Martin Funeral Home. LLC.
