Ervin Thompson of Steubenville, Ohio passed away on June 13, 2020, at Villa Vista Royale in Steubenville, OH. He was born in Lilly, GA to the union of Tobe and Emma Lou Thompson.

Ervin, known as Tobey Joe, was a former employee for the state of New Jersey in parks and recreation.

He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers—Albert, Edward, and William, who are all deceased.

Tobey Joe is survived by one daughter who was a dutiful caretaker, Tina L. Edwards, of Weirton, WV, one godson, William Zimmerman of Steubenville, OH, along with a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Homegoing service will be Saturday, June 20, 2020, at Mount Olive Baptist Church, Weirton, WV. Viewing will be 11:00am-12:00pm with service following at 12:00pm. Reverend Rudy McAllister will officiate.

Due to COVID-19 guidelines, the family is asking to please wear a mask, gloves, and practice social distancing.
