IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Estelle
Dalton
July 20, 1936 – February 9, 2026
Estelle Dalton, 89, of Wintersville, Ohio, passed away on February 9, 2026, at Trinity West Medical Center.
She was born on July 20, 1936, in Steubenville, Ohio, to the late Edward and Eva Freeland. Estelle was a proud graduate of Steubenville High School. She later married the love of her life, Raymond L. Dalton Sr., and together they raised two daughters, Lynne and Kimberly, and one son, Raymond Jr.
Estelle was a hardworking and independent woman throughout her life. She was a licensed barber and proudly owned and operated her own shop. Later, she dedicated many years of service to St. John’s Hospital, where she worked faithfully until her retirement.
She enjoyed keeping her mind active with puzzles and loved watching professional basketball. She was a devoted fan of the Golden State Warriors and especially enjoyed watching Stephen Curry and Draymond Green. She also cheered for the Los Angeles Lakers, following LeBron James and Luka Dončić. One of her favorite television programs was First Take, which she watched regularly.
Estelle had a strong and steady presence. She believed in getting things done and carried herself with confidence and purpose. She valued discipline and structure, yet she was warm, pleasant, and known for her welcoming smile. She loved her family deeply and took pride in caring for her home and those around her.
She especially enjoyed her conversations with Wayne after he finished cutting the grass at her home. She also cherished her church fellowship, where Gary faithfully waited to help her into church each Sunday. Estelle held dear her Sunday lunch gatherings with Wylene, Janet, Paulette, and Floretta, friendships that meant so much to her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond L. Dalton Sr.; her grandson, Rashad Dixon; her sister in law, Virginia; and her brothers in law, Clarence, Floyd, Richard, and Garrett.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Lynne Knight, Kimberly Dalton, and Raymond L. Dalton Jr.; her sisters-in-law, Dorothy Dalton, Nancy Dalton, Dorothy Toney, and Jermaine Thompson; her brother-in-law, Martin Dalton; and Deacon William Watson Jr., who was like a brother to her; along with extended family and friends who will forever treasure her memory.
Estelle has now reunited with her lifelong friends, Evelyn, Mary Ruth, Sandy, and Rosie, who were very dear to her heart.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the Gregory Martin Funeral Chapel, 255 South 7th Street, Steubenville, Ohio. Reverend Norries A. Hood Sr. will deliver the eulogy.
Estelle will be laid to rest at Fort Steuben Burial Estates in Wintersville, Ohio.
