On Friday, September 11. 2015, Ester O. Allen, Jr. went home to be with Jesus. To be absent from the body is to be present with the LORD.
Ester, affectionately known as "Peanut" was born on November 13, 1949 in Steubenville, Ohio. His parents Ester, Sr. and Emma Allen preceded him in death.
He lived his entire life in the Ohio Valley Area. He graduated in 1969 from Mingo High School. Immediately after graduation, he began a career with Weirton Steel Corporation.He worked for 39 years with Weirton Steel Corporation as an electrician and also as a line production worker until he retired in 2008 due to his illness.
Ester enjoyed such things as fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, and being a mentor to all ages; especially those dealing with substance abuse issues. He poured his life into so many others.
Following his own surrender to Christ, he made Jesus his Life and Savior. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where he enjoyed fellowship, WORD and worship.
Ester leaves behind: his children; Latisha (John) Murray of Steubenville, Ohio, Marcella (Howard) Scurry of Steubenville, Ohio, Amy (Jerry) Savage of Toronto, Ohio, Sharon (Randy) Hines of Columbus, Ohio, Teauna Faulks of Columbus, Ohio and step-son Jonathan Sherrell of Steubenville, Ohio, 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, brothers; Freddie (Frankie) Allen of Steubenville, Ohio, Robert Allen of Steubenville, Ohio, Gary Allen of Mingo Junction, Ohio, La'Vern (La'Teesha) Allen of Tampa Florida and Thomas Allen of Steubenville, Ohio, sisters; Alberta (James) Jones of Portsmouth, Virginia, Keteriah (Rev. Harry) Primus of Calabash, North Carolina, Brenda (Henry) Walker of Cocoa, Florida, Linda Allen of Steubenville, Ohio and Juanita Allen of Wheeling, West Virginia, a dear aunt; Clemmie Cain of Steubenville, Ohio, a host of many dear relatives and friends.
