Celebrating the Life of Evangelist Ella Marie Jones
June 10, 1941 to October 8, 2025

With hearts full of love and gratitude, the family of Evangelist Ella Marie Jones announces her peaceful passing at the age of 84 on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at her home in Wintersville, Ohio.

Born June 10, 1941, in Weirton, West Virginia, Marie was the beloved daughter of the late Lucy Jane Deans. Raised in the Pentecostal Apostolic faith, she lived a life marked by unwavering devotion to God and to the people around her. She was a faithful member of The Father's House Church in Bloomingdale, Ohio, where she found spiritual fellowship in her later years.

Throughout her life in ministry, Marie served the body of Christ with great passion and humility. She was a Sunday School teacher, a dedicated member of the usher board, and a powerful prayer warrior whose intercessions left lasting impact. Whether leading a class, welcoming members at the church doors, or not so quietly praying for others, she gave herself fully to the work of the Lord.

She was a lifelong learner and loved studying God's word. When she wasn't reading her Bible or a good book, you could find her in the garden nurturing her flowers or traveling the world with joy and curiosity. Marie had a playful spirit and a special love for dollar stores, affectionately called "The Jones Mall" by her family. She had impeccable style, always carried herself with grace, and was known for her fabulous collection of wigs—each one worn with pride and flair.

She was the devoted wife of the late Deacon Ulysses Jones, her true partner in life. Their love was a living example of commitment and care. If he said he was hungry in the middle of the night, Marie would be up at 2 a.m. cooking him a full meal without hesitation. That same deep devotion carried over into her role as a mother,  grandmother and recently Great-grandmother. Her family was her heart, and she poured her love into every generation.

She was preceded in death by her mother Lucy Jane Deans, and her siblings Cleveland Deans, Josephine Myriankas, and Rose Deans.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Tina Hines and her husband Ronald, Nicola Jones, and Ulysses Jones Jr, her grandchildren Briana Jones, Hunter Green, Brett Isler, Jennifer Butler, and Ronald Hines Jr.; and her great-grandchildren Aubrielle Isler, Sariah Isler, Jayce Green, Zane Butler, and Zander Butler. She also leaves behind her sister Pearlene Deans, her beloved nephew Louis Jones who was like a son to her, a host of extended family and friends, and her faithful granddog Mojo DeBarkus Jones.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of her Life Celebration at 12 noon at the Gregory-Martin Funeral Chapel, 255 S. 7th Street (Dr. MLK Blvd.) in Steubenville, Ohio. Pastor Bob Mazeroski will deliver the eulogy. She will be laid to rest at Fort Steuben Burial Estates in Wintersville, Ohio.

Arrangements are entrusted to the compassionate care of Gregory-Martin Funeral Home.

Evangelist Ella Marie Jones lived a life of love, faith, and purpose. Her legacy of prayer, service, and grace will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her. Her work is done, her rest is well earned, and her light will shine on forever. She has gone to be with God.
