Florence Y. Profit of Steubenville, Ohio passed away on August 29, 2024. She was born on June 10, 1959, to Richard Albritton and Eleanor Profit. She was lovingly raised by her mother and father Eleanor and Gene Profit.

Florence was a very courageous woman and after receiving a High School Equivalency, she went on to receive her postsecondary degree in Child Psychology from the University of Phoenix. She was a true testament of how to never give up and to follow your dreams. She worked many years as a social worker for Jefferson County Children"s Services. When she moved to Columbus, Ohio she worked with Buckeye Ranch and helped children and youth with behavioral issues succeed.  After Florence's mother fell ill, she gladly came home to care for her.

She was a stern woman of virtue and instilled in her children a sense of pride in their appearance and the way they presented themselves. She was an immaculate housekeeper and an excellent cook. She was small in stature but as mighty as they come. Florence adored her family and her grandchildren held a special place in her heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Gene and Eleanor Profit; and her siblings, Richard Profit and LaRoyce Swearingen.

Florence will forever be missed by her three sons, Philippe Profit, Darnell Hill, and Robert Christen; twelve cherished grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her siblings, Regina King, James Profit, Michael Thomas, Esther Yates, and Pamela Yates; a host of dear relatives, and many dedicated friends.



Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at the Gregory-Martin Funeral Chapel, 255 S. 7th Street, Steubenville, Ohio 43952, at 12 PM. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at 11 AM.
