Foster Isaac Scurry Jr., a resident of Steubenville, Ohio, passed away on December 28, 2023. He was born on February 13, 1958, in Weirton, West Virginia, to the union of Foster, Sr. and Helena (Scott) Scurry.

Foster graduated from Steubenville High School. He later obtained a certification from trade school. He dedicated many years of his life to the City of Steubenville's Sanitation Department. Foster found love and companionship in Helen Brown, whom he married and shared numerous joyful years until her passing.

In his youth, Foster excelled as a skilled boxer, achieving a two-time Golden Glove Championship.  He bravely participated in the Junior Olympics, facing off against the legendary Tommy Herns. He enjoyed playing music, watching sports, and spending time with his family. He helped instill the virtue of togetherness in his family members. He truly cherished his children and grandchildren, his legacies.

Foster was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Helen Scurry; siblings, Regina Scurry, Callie Minnifield, Estelle Mitchell, Catherine Conley, Edward Combs, and Lawrence Combs Sr.; and one granddaughter, Pamela Combs.

He is survived by his children,  Helena Jones, DeJuan Scurry Brown, Victoria Grimes, and Kaitlyn Scurry; grandchildren Shadesha Miller, Charles Miller Jr., Jordan Combs, Da'Ron Hamilton Jr., James Grimes, Dashia Brown, Halo Brown, HaKayla Brown, Santino Brown, Robert Brown, Romeo Brown, and Nino Brown; brothers, Howard (Marcella) Scurry and Glenn Scurry; a special friend of many years, Jackie Wise; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, January 5, 2024, from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 pm at the GREGORY-MARTIN CHAPEL, located at 255 S. 7th Street in Steubenville, Ohio. The eulogy will be delivered by Elder James Wooden. Following the service, entombment will take place at Union Cemetery.
