Frances Florene Minnifield, 75, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2020, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her devoted family. She was born in Steubenville, Ohio, to the union of the late George Young and Georgia Pearl (Thompson) Young on February 11, 1945.

Frances was baptized at Second Baptist Church in Steubenville. She attended the Steubenville City School system. She was a resourceful woman and worked as a daycare provider, in construction for Jefferson Metropolitan Housing, and the HVL Vitamin Factory. Frances was also a homemaker in her home where she reared her children. She enjoyed all of her family and had an extraordinary love for her children and grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and often sold dinners out of her home that would feed the entire town. Frances bowled in the National Bowling Association for over 18 years. Her generous heart steered her to volunteer with Hurricane Katrina Relief.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Georgia Young; her husband, Robert Minnifield; one brother, Robert Young; five sisters, Ella Mae Young, Darlene Gantt, Dorothy Cason, and Bernadine Birden; and one grandson, Terrance Elder Luke.

Left behind to cherish her memory are five loving children, Lonya Young, Royce and Celeste Brown, Terrance Jr. (Julie) Elder and Terisha Elder, all of Steubenville, Ohio; and one sister, Theresa Young of Steubenville, Ohio; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Services convene on Saturday, March 28, 2020, at Second Baptist Church, 717 Adams Street in Steubenville. The viewing will start at 12:00 PM until the time of service at 1 PM at the church. The Pastor, Marvin E. Barner Jr. will deliver the eulogy. Frances will be laid to rest at Union Cemetery in Steubenville. Arrangements entrusted to GREGORY-MARTIN FUNERAL HOME LLC.
