On February 1, 1958, Frances Margaret Casillas was born in San Jose, California. Growing up in Gilroy California she would graduate from Gilroy high school in 1976. She would then attend Gavilan College where she showed her love for sports by playing on the women's softball championship team of 1977. She would then meet her future husband Jason Thorn Sr they fell in love and started a family totaling five children Jason Thorn Jr, Justina A Thorn, Oscar Thorn, Manuel Thorn, and the youngest Jacob Thorn. Frances love for family would extend beyond her own as she coached and encourage children of all ages in sports and academics while she worked for Gilroy High School. She was a very kind-hearted, lovable caring person. She touched the lives of many and all considered her like family.
