Obituary

Francine "Fran" May Harton passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025, at Valley Hospice Care Center North, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in Weirton, West Virginia, on January 30, 1956, Fran was the daughter of John Fuller and Betty Jane Brown Fuller and the identical twin of her lifelong best friend, Darlene. She graduated from Weir High School in 1974 and began her career at Weirton Steel, where she proudly worked for 31 years. She later joined Trinity Hospital and served for more than 17 years, remembered by her coworkers for her kindness, humility, and warm smile.

Fran met the love of her life, Roderick "Rod" Harton, in 1977. They were united in marriage on August 27, 1983, and shared forty devoted years together. Their union was blessed with two sons, Roderick Dion II and Sedrick John J. Fran cherished family life and created a warm and welcoming home in Wintersville, Ohio, where she enjoyed decorating, gardening, and supporting Rod in his many endeavors.

A woman of faith, Fran was a longtime member of Morning Star Baptist Church in Weirton and later attended online services at Friendship Missionary Church in Charlotte. She faced her battle with cancer with grace, courage, and unwavering strength.

Fran was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Mallory "Pee Wee" Fuller. She was also preceded by her brothers in law Derwin "Derby" Harton, Linden Harton, Steve Harton, and Kent Hopkins.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Roderick "Rod" Harton Sr.; her sons, Roderick Dion Harton II and Sedrick John J. Harton; her grandchildren, Roderick Dion "Trey" Harton III, Dionte Harton, and Brooklyn Harton; her brothers, Alvin Woodbury and Maurice (Henrietta) Fuller; her sisters, Darlene Gory (Mark Cole) and Althea Hopkins; her nieces, Erica Gory, Althea Thomas, Shari Thomas, Onica Fuller, and Tinia Hopkins; her nephew, Evan (Megan) Hopkins; and her dear friends, Terri and Craig Platt. She is also remembered by a host of extended relatives, coworkers, and friends whose lives she touched.
