Obituary

Frankie Mae Gilliam was born in Luverne, Alabama on June 29, 1936, to the late Mittie Mae Brown and was raised by her late grandparents Alverta and Jim Barber. Her mother had six sisters and nine brothers who are all deceased.

Frankie was a member of Shiloh Apostolic Faith Assembly Church in Weirton. She worked at the Holiday Inn in Steubenville, Ohio as a head cook and then later was employed by Fort Steuben Metals where she retired. She was known for her style, and her love for cooking "pasta salad". "Ma", as she was affectionately called, adored her children and grandchildren and was always the protector.

Frankie was preceded in death by her late husbands, Jesse Tucker, and Vincent Gilliam; one daughter, Tina Louise Tucker; a step-son, Curtis Lawson; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; and her closest friends.

Frankie leaves behind to cherish her memory, one sister, Erma Lee from Niles, Ohio. She is also survived by her six children, Tonya Tucker of Baltimore, MD; Marla (Joe) Stoutamire of Weirton, WV; Maurice Tucker of Weirton, WV; Gina Tucker of Houston, TX; and Amber Gilliam of Columbus, OH; one stepdaughter, Lori Williams Davis of Houston, TX; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; her special friend, Lynda Wares, the family knows how special the bond was and how much you will miss her; she is also survived by a host of loving relatives and friends that will miss her deeply.

To baby Takaiyuh Gilliam: Grandma and Papa adored you from the day you were born. "Ma" would say be strong, do well, and I love you.
