George Benjamin Artis, Jr. passed away suddenly on November 21, 2021 in Tampa, Florida. He was born in Williamson, West Virginia to George Benjamin Artis, Sr. and Nora Brown Artis on June 10, 1977.

He attended Williamson High School and graduated Capitol High School in Charleston, West Virginia. George Benjamin Artis, Jr. was the type of person who was loyal and would always have your back. He was always there for his family and friends and if you needed him he would find a way to be there, even if he had to walk for hours. Little Benny, as he was affectionately called, was loveable, funny, and had a crazy streak of excitement that attracted people to him. It was hard for Benny to tell a lie because he would begin to stutter.

Benny had two beautiful daughters, Olivia and DeAndria Artis. He loved his girls and cherished them deeply.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Dekalb and Christine Artis; maternal grandparents, Hellen Fullen and John (Mary) Brown; uncle; Johnny Fullen; and an aunt, Alma Redding.

He will truly be missed by his family, daughters; Olivia Artis and DeAndria Artis; father, George (Robin) Artis; mother, Nora Brown Artis; grandchildren, Kamira Dogan and Dominique Dogan, Jr. ; sisters, Melanie Cunningham Harris, Bethany (Byron) Artis Justice, and Brittany Artis; uncle, Steven Fullen; aunts, Carole and Cheryl Artis, Mary Fullen Blackwell, Donzella Fullen, and Patricia Brown; a host of other relatives and many dear friends.

"We will hold onto the memories and cherish every moment we encountered with you.  This is not goodbye – this is see you later."
