Obituary

George Franklin Johnson of Steubenville, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Trinity West Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Steubenville, Ohio to the union of the late Andrew and Minnie Johnson on Wednesday, Nov. 24, 1926.

George was a dutiful member of Mt. Zion Church. He served on the Usher Board until his health failed. He attended Steubenville City Schools, soon afterwards he joined the United States Army where he served his country honorably in the Air Cor. He met and married Paulette Walker and they enjoyed many years together.

He worked and retired from Brandt Motor Company. George was also a member of the local American Legion. George loved sports and was a true Cleveland Brown's fan.

He will be sadly missed by his devoted wife; Paulette, a daughter; Yvette Baker, four sisters; Anna Mary Peterson, Ruth Gregory, Helen Gregory and Joan Taylor, Godchildren; Roic and Tori Blackwell and Ivy Hampton, a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral Sat., 12:00PM, Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 221 N. 7th St., Rev. Norries A. Hood, Sr. will officiate. The family will receive friends at 10:00AM until service begins. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery.
