Gerald Stafford Salter, age 73, was called to his eternal resting place on August 9, 2017. He was born on March 19, 1944 in Steubenville, Ohio, to the union of William and Lucille (Stevenson) Salter

He attended Weirton Madonna High School where he played football and received his high school diploma. He worked for Wheeling Pitt Steel for many years as a machinist and a caster until his retirement. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his friends during his pastime. He was a rock and great provider for his family and will be missed by them dearly.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Salter and a son, Gerald, Jr.

He will be sorely missed by his daughter, Kimberly Salter; brothers, Grant (Louise), and Kent Salter, a host of other relatives and dear friends.

As per Mr. Salter's wishes, there will be no services observed. His family will lay him to rest privately in Union Cemetery of Steubenville, Ohio.
