Life of Gladys Jane (Collins) Brown

Gladys Jane (Collins) Brown, 83, she was born March 28, 1935, in Steubenville, OH.  She was born to the late James and Nevina (Freeman) Collins.

Gladys took her eternal rest and went home to be with the Lord on June 22, 2018, at Valley Hospice, Trinity Medical Center West.

She was a member of Mount Carmel Community Baptist Church in Steubenville, OH. She was a devout and firm believer in the goodness of our Lord and Savior.

She attended Steubenville High School and Steubenville Business College where she earned a degree in Business & Accounting.  She went on to become the Branch Manager at Miners & Mechanics Bank for many of years until she retired.

She was extremely charitable, willing to give to anyone in need of anything. She believed in "Give and you shall receive." You may have initially been introduced to her as Mrs. Brown, but soon after you referred to her as "NANA"!  She especially loved listening to Gospel music on her tablet. When she couldn't make it to church she watched from home.  Again, a faithful Christian.

She was preceded in death by her parents as well as two daughters Karen L. Brown and Bunswella E. Brown.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son; Leonard E. (Pearl) Brown; three daughters, Sharon Y Brown, Darlene M. Brown, and Brenda L. (Leroy) Hilson; thirteen grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren and their children; her sister; Joyce (Steve)Jones; as well as nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors and all whom she loved very dearly.

Gladys was blessed to live a long life and enjoyed it to the fullest.  To God be the Glory for allowing us to have been a part of her life…Until we meet again,

All services will be held on Tuesday,  June 26, 2018, at Mount Carmel Community Baptist Church,  708 N 5th Street, Steubenville, OH. Public Viewing: 11:00 a.m. until her life celebration at 1:00 p.m.,  Rev. Benjamin L. Calvert, II, Senior Pastor, will officiate.
