Glenn Thompson, 81, of Steubenville, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 1, 2020, at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa.
He was born on January 5, 1939, to the late William Thompson and Beulah Harris Thompson. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Raymond Harris.
Glenn graduated from Toronto High School and went on to serve his country in the United States Army. He later retired from the Koppers Company of Follansbee, W.Va.
Glenn was a dedicated and faithful member of Quinn Memorial AME Church where he served on the Usher and Trustee Boards. He was an avid fisherman and dearly loved his family. Ja'Seir, his great-grandson whom he fondly called Main Man, was always by his side. He was a role model and mentor for his grandchildren Justin, Brenton, Josh, Shayla, Nyasha, Jorian, Inky, and Sabrina. Harmonee, his great-granddaughter, called him PawPaw and he called her sister.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sylvia Thompson; 3 sons, Christopher, Timothy and Michael; two daughters, Renee Thompson and Glenda (George) Jones; and his brother, Nelson Montiere.
A Memorial Service celebrating Glenn's life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Gregory-Martin Funeral Services.
