LAVENDER, Harold, 59, formerly of Steubenville, passed away on Feb. 19, 2014 at Akron City Hospital.
He was born on March 17, 1954 to the union of late Ross, Sr. and Iola (Hudson) Lavender.
Harold was a a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he was baptized at a young age.
He was a graduate of Steubeville "Big Red" High School.
He was an avid Cleveland Brown's Fan. He enjoyed watching sports and truly loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Gussie L. Culbreath.
He leaves to cherish his memory a daughter; Princess Palmer-Sams, two step-sons; Jeffery and William Gwen, a devoted companion for 22 years; Carmia Gwen, loving siblings; Masie, Isabelle, Tonya, Ross, Jr. (Rose), Curtis, Robert (Jewel) and Lorenzo (Renita) Lavender, Rosemary Cain and Latricia (Sonny) Solomon, a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Wed., Feb. 26, 2014, at noon at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 221 N. 7th St. Rev. Norries A. Hood, Sr., Officiant and Rev. Roderick Pounds, Eulogist. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m.
Burial at Union Cemetery.
