Irma Williams, 93, of Youngstown, Ohio, departed this life on October 2, 2026.


Irma was born on July 24, 1933, in Youngstown, Ohio, to the late Clarence Barnes and Aretta Young Barnes. She was raised by her father, Clarence Barnes, and her stepmother, Cleo Barnes.


A Christian by faith, Irma attended Union Baptist Church. Her faith remained an important part of her life throughout the years.


A nurse by profession, Irma dedicated many years to caring for others. She worked at South Side Hospital in Youngstown until her retirement.


Irma enjoyed sewing and cooking and especially cherished spending time with her family.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Barnes and Aretta Young Barnes; her stepmother, Cleo Barnes; her beloved husband, Edward Williams Sr.; and her siblings, Ruth Davis, Donald Clarence Barnes, Aretta “Betty” Douglas, Beatrice Moore, and Raymond Barnes.


She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Edward Williams III and Terry Williams; her grandchildren, Jermaine Williams, Clarence Williams, Courtney Williams, Terra Williams, Kelley Venters, and Kayla Venters; her great-grandchildren, Jermanee Williams, Cass Huntley, and Ivory Williams; her siblings, Cheryl “Niecy” Barnes-Turner and Richard Barnes; her brother-in-law, John Williams; and a host of other relatives and friends.


The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Gregory-Martin Funeral Home, Youngstown Chapel, 292 Madison Avenue in Youngstown, Ohio.
