Jacqueline E. Nance Brown, age 72, passed away in the comfort of her home on August 10, 2019, in Baltimore, Maryland. She was born July 15, 1947, in Mobile, Alabama, to the union of Walter Allen Nance and Mattie Clyde Russell.

She was a Christian by faith. She earned her high school equivalency diploma and later went on to graduate top of her class in childcare studies at Baltimore City Community College where she received high honors and also received glowing recommendations from all of her professors.

She held a prolific career as a lobby attendant at the Tremont Hotel and as a nanny to the owner's son, Christopher, whom she lovingly called "meathead." Jacqueline's second career was in Patient Transport at John Hopkins University Hospital where she worked until her health failed.

Jackie loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly. They were the greatest joy of her life. The residents of 6050 Moravia Drive really loved Jackie and were deeply saddened to hear of her passing. Her family, friends and neighbors are grateful to know she has returned home to our Lord.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Allen Peter Brown; one brother, Lawrence Nance; two sisters, Patricia Nance Allen, and Essie Bannister; two children, Craig L. Brown, and Leonard Brown.

She leaves behind to treasure her memory, four dear children, Yvonne D. Brown, Tony T. Brown, Kimbeallyn M. Smith, and Christopher Terry; her grandchildren, Brittany Coleman, Saniequia Brown, Imania Rashaad, Robin Smith, Robert Smith, Derrick J. Brown, Erikalynn M. Brown and Tyler Brown; great-grandchildren, Mya, Karina, Enslee, Saintana, Sameje, Sanje, Delonso, and Rashaad; an uncle, Oscar Russell; an aunt, Louis Russell; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends at 12:30 p.m. until the time of service, 1 p.m., at Gregory-Martin Funeral Home, 711 South Street in Steubenville on Friday, October 11, 2019.
