James Darnell Goodwin was born March 28, 1963 in Wheeling, West Virginia to the union of James Walter Goodwin and Gladys (Williams) Goodwin.

James was a construction worker for many years until he became disabled.

He was a wonderful singer and enjoyed singing. He was the type of person that never met a stranger. James was known within his family as a mama's boy. He loved the company of his family and although he never had children he had a soft spot in his heart for children.

He met and married Kathy Livingston and they were married many years. He and Kathy maintain a close friendship of trust and dedication, although they severed ties.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother; Gladys, siblings; Carmen, Lucretia and Johnetta Goodwin, Sherika, Laurita and Jamie Reed, Anthony, Michael and Kimberly Hager, an ex-wife and friend; Kathy Goodwin, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces a dear friend Monique Luke and many other relatives and friends.
