James Mayo, 71, of Steubenville passed away March 18, 2016 at Valley Hospice Care Center North.
He was born on March 25, 1944 in Smithfield, OH to the union of Clifford and Elizabeth (Moore) Mayo.
James was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He served his country in the United States Navy. He was a master electrician and retired from Ohio Edison. He loved the Cleveland Browns but most of all he loved his family.
James was preceded in death by: his parents, and his wife; Jacqueline Mayo.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters; Scherry Montgomery, Monique (Dennis) Roddy, and Varnell (Fredrick) Baker, sons; Michael (Alethea), and Darnell Mayo, Nathaniel Johnson, and Kairaba Dixon, sisters; Patricia (Lawrence) Fletcher, Ethel Mayo, Lillian Lucas, and Claudia (Frank) Holmes, brothers; Alfred, Herbert, and Andrew (Cheri) Mayo, 13 grandchildren, a special niece; Valerie Dorsey, and a significant other; Lorna Platt.
