JAMES "CHICO" SWEARENGEN, Jr.


James "Chico" Swearengen, Jr., was born on August 11, 1955 in Steubenville, Ohio to James and Shirley (Smith) Swearengen.

He was a graduate of Big Red High School where he was a star baseball player. Most people recognized him as an Ambassador of the Community during his tenure with SVRTA. He was well-known for his broad smile and commercial line "Come ride with us!" Chico was a member of The Sons of the American Legion Post 274 and also a Freemason.

Chico was preceded in death by his father James Swearengen; Maternal Grandparents Lester & Nettie Smith; Paternal Grandparents Jim & Mary Swearengen; two sisters, Diana Bing, Maxine Swearengen and Brother, Lester Swearengen.

He leaves to cherish his Children, L'Tanya Swearengen (Savannah, Ga) and James Chico (Alice) Swearengen (Steubenville, OH), Vonnetta and Vonita Royal (Bluffton, Indiana); Sisters Cyndie and Diona Swearengen (Columbus, OH); Brothers, Keith (Connie) Smith (Steubenville, OH), Riley (Rose) Swearengen (Oakland, MS) and Clifford Swearengen (Memphis, TN); and 16 Grandchildren and 5 Great-Grandchildren. He will also be sadly missed by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
