Janet Lee Archie, 67, of Weirton, West Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at Weirton Medical Center. Janet was born June 6, 1951, in Steubenville, Ohio, to the late William Howard, Sr., and Beatrice Mae (Johnson) Brown.
She was a dedicated lifelong member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Weirton where she served on the kitchen committee. She graduated from Weir High School class of 1970. She worked and retired from Weirton Medical Center as a patient care technician. She additionally served as a steward for Union AEU.
Janet enjoyed sports and was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Pirates, West Virginia Mountaineers, and the Golden State Warriors. She also enjoyed playing games of bingo. She was known to be a good baker and enjoyed baking treats such as cheesecake and pumpkin rolls.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Joan Brown, Geraldine Carr, Ethel Salter, Arthur Brown, and John Leroy Brown, and a daughter, Lisa Hoko.
Family members surviving are her children, James A. Archie, Jr; Erik L. Archie, and Shawna N. Mason; grandsons, James E. Thompson and Malik Archie; granddaughters, Chynna Bragg and Sierra Hill; and her great-grandchildren, Gavin J. Thompson and Demari A. Thompson; her siblings, Charles W. Brown, William W. Brown, Jr., and Martha Brown Howard; a host of other relatives and friends
Calling hours will be held 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service, 12 p.m. on Friday, June 7, 2019, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church at Weir Avenue and Kessel Street in Weirton, West Virginia. Rev. Rudy McAllister will deliver the funeral eulogy. Final care provided by Gregory-Martin Funeral Home, LLC (304) 797-1400. Interment will take place at Paris Cemetery.
