Obituary

Ja'zeric A. Birden graced this world with his presence on November 5, 2005, as the beloved son of Latasha Birden and Tony Dillard. On January 26, 2024, in Steubenville, Ohio, he left us unexpectedly, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Ja'zeric, affectionately known as Choppy, was a proud graduate of Steubenville High School, where he passionately played as a lineman for the esteemed Big Red football team. His camaraderie with teammates illuminated the field, and his dedication was truly admirable. Beyond the gridiron, Ja'zeric dedicated himself to his work at Apollo Restoration, where he brought his infectious laughter and jovial spirit to brighten the day for all.

A beacon of joy, Ja'zeric was renowned for his quick wit and ability to bring laughter to any gathering. His genuine love for his family and friends was palpable, and his contagious smile lit up every room he entered. Ja'zeric embraced life with an infectious enthusiasm, spreading joy wherever he went and leaving a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

In the tapestry of his life, Ja'zeric was preceded in death by his beloved grandfather, Otearle Birden Sr., along with several generations of ancestors, and his younger brother, Te'on.

He leaves behind a void in the hearts of his mother, Latasha Birden, residing in Steubenville, OH, and his father, Tony Dillard, of Chicago, IL. Ja'zeric will be forever cherished by his grandmother, Paula Chairse, of Chicago, IL; his siblings: Tony, Tea'jha, Ja'terris, Kuhtie, Ti'manni, Michael, Ka'tone, and Kani; his aunts: Latarria, Linda Chairse, and Cawanna Loveless; his uncles: Otearle Birden Jr., Sean and Aaron Loveless, and Quintin Dillard; and a multitude of relatives and dear friends, each touched by his vibrant spirit.

Though Ja'zeric's physical presence may be gone, his laughter, kindness, and indomitable spirit will forever echo in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

The family will welcome friends on Saturday, February 10th, 2024, from noon until the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. The service will be held at the GREGORY-MARTIN CHAPEL, located at 255 S. 7th Street in Steubenville, Ohio. Minister Darren Holt will deliver the eulogy. If you would like to express your condolences, please visit Ja'zeric's online guestbook.
