Jennie Ledsome went home to be with our Lord on May 12, 2020. She was 68 years old. She is survived by her two daughters, Angie Bennett and Tina Chandler, and four grandchildren. Jennie was a beautiful soul and she will never be forgotten. We will carry her memory in our hearts for the rest of our lives. Her journey through life was not always an easy one, as she faced many health challenges. Jennie was strong and wanted to survive. We will always remember her smile, her beauty and the love that she had for her family. Although we could not all be together in the way that we wanted, there was always love in all of our hearts, no matter the distance. I believe if she could talk to us one last time, the words of this poem say what her heart would want to share with us.

I MADE IT HOME
I just wanted to let you know that I made it home.
Everything is so pretty here, so white, so fresh, so new. I wish that you could close your eyes so
you could see it too.
Please try not to be sad for me. Try to understand. God is taking care of
me. I'm in the shelter of His hands.
Here there is no sadness, no sorrow, no pain. Here there is no crying and I'll never hurt again.
Here it is so peaceful when all the angels sing.
I really have to go for now, it's time to try my wings.

We would like to thank all the caregivers at Dixon Health Care Center, as well as Shauna, for the support and care given to our mother during the past years. Thank you for making her feel safe and loved. It is what she needed most.
