Jewel Blondell "Missy" Young, 51, transitioned from this life on July 22, 2023, at her home. She was born in Steubenville, Ohio, on April 4, 1972, the daughter of the late Jeannine R. (Rollins) Young and James Swearingen.

Throughout her life, she attended Steubenville City Schools and touched the lives of many with her kindness, generosity, and fiery spirit. She was known for her infectious laughter, unwavering love of family and friends, and her favorite word "WHOA" whenever she saw you anywhere. Missy began her journey as a K-Mart Sales Rep until their closing and later secured a position as a park and recreation site monitor. She found her calling when she secured a position as a childcare provider. She had a passion and showed enthusiasm with all the children she encountered. She was admired for her dedication expertise and commitment to excellence as she cared for the children.

In her free time, Jewel found Solace hanging with friends she called family, watching Pittsburgh Steelers football, and caring for kids. Jewel will forever be known for her strong character, unwavering faith, and genuine love for others. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all fortunate enough to know her.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers Monte (Silver) Young and Richard (Rashee) Young; and a host of loved ones she has joined all whom you missed and loved dearly.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, a nephew DaShae Young; niece Zarrah Young; great-nephew Zaire Young, and Niece Jamie Ving. Special cousins Khalil Jones, Kwame Jones, and Michaelene Jones. Friends whom she considered her family Tyrone Rice,( Zulu)  Lisa Morris, Erin Dunburg, Diana Brown-Thompson, and Charlyn Wade. An Uncle Thomas (Vonetta) Jones, Aunts Connie Birden, Kim Young, and special aunt Lela Jones.

Now rest no more pain, until we meet again WHOA!
