Joan Marie Sims, 87, of Weirton, West Virginia, passed away on August 13, 2023, at her residence. She was born January 16, 1936, in Weirton to the late William and Florence (Hill) Anderson.

Joan grew up attending St. Peters A.M.E. Church in Weirton. She worked several years for Wheeling Pitt Steel until her retirement. She was everyone's mom throughout her community and was also known to be a great role model. In her spare time, she enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading. Joan's loving-kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her son Kevin (Katrina) Sims; grandchildren Kevin Jr., Clara, and Florence Sims; and a host of other relatives and friends.
