John Earl Gregory, Jr. was born October 3, 1956 in Martins Ferry, Ohio, to the late John Earl, Sr. and Juanita (Snell) Gregory. He went home to be with his heavenly Father on Monday, June 1, 2026 at the age of 69.

John (known to most as Johnny) attended North High School in Youngstown Ohio, where he played basketball, football, ran track, and threw the discus. He was employed at Vallourec Star for the past 20 years as a pipe inspector.

John loved to cook for his family, especially during the holidays. He loved setting off fireworks for the fourth of July for everyone in the neighborhood to enjoy. His hobbies, were fishing, coin collecting, barbequing, going to the casino, and football. He was an avid Cleveland Browns fan.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John Sr and Juanita Gregory; brother, Robert Gregory; and daughter, Victoria Gregory.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 51 years Delphine (Shivers) Gregory, his children; daughters, Valerie Gregory of Pittsburgh, Pamela Gregory of Columbus, Angela Gregory and Anita Gregory-Simmons of Youngstown; son, Robert Gregory of Youngstown; sisters, Linda (Tyrone) Gregory-Hayden of Youngstown, Kathy Gregory of Cleveland; brother, Tyrone Gregory of Youngstown; 21 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

A homegoing celebration will be held 12:00 (noon) P.M. Friday June 12, 2026 at Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church , a visitation with the family will be 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at the Church.
