Mrs. Johny M. Hayes entered eternal rest on April 2, 2026, at the age of 94. She was born on November 18, 1931, and throughout her long life she made a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. Johny was witty, funny, and smart-mouthed in a way that kept people laughing and always let you know exactly where she stood. She loved beautiful things, loved to collect them, and just as quickly loved giving them away to others.

Johny M. Hayes was the beloved daughter of the late Mary Jane Garner and Monroe Garner. She was also preceded in death by five sisters and one brother, and leaves to cherish her memory one living sister, Irma Taylor, and her godson, Monroe Francois.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory her children: James Hayes, Michael Hayes, Ronald Hayes, Danny Hayes, and Kelvin Ray Hayes; and the memory of her daughters, Janice Faye Johnson, who preceded her in death, along with her husband Rudolf Johnson, and Valerie Vanessa Thomas, who also preceded her in death.

Johny M. Hayes was truly one of a kind. She loved in her own way and left her mark through her presence, her humor, and her honesty. She loved her church and her church family, and she cared deeply about serving her community.

She leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 AM at Third Baptist Church, 1177 Park Hill Dr., Youngstown, Ohio 44502. Interment will follow at Tod Homestead Cemetery.
