Joseph F. Jones, age 80, of Steubenville, peacefully entered eternal rest on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Weirton Medical Center in Weirton, West Virginia.

Born on December 29, 1945, in Mansfield, Ohio, he was the beloved son of the late Joseph and Dorothy Crump Jones. Joseph spent his early years in Pittsburgh, where he attended elementary school and later graduated from Schenley High School. A proud member of the Boy Scouts, he developed a lifelong sense of discipline, service, and community.

Joseph pursued his passion for the culinary arts, working as a cook at the University of Pittsburgh before beginning a long and dedicated career with the City of Steubenville at the age of 24.

He was known for his love of fishing, his joyful humor, and the warmth he brought to every gathering. A devoted fan of jazz music, Joseph appreciated a smooth groove and carried himself with impeccable style, always sharply dressed and polished with care.

Joseph leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Maxine Jones; his children, Joseph Jones Jr. and Joenika White; his siblings, Leslie Jones and Dolores “Ivy” Jones; his grandchildren, Joseph Jones III, Kyron Curry, and Ky’Leel Curry; and his great grandchildren, Brooklyn Curry and Kyron Curry Jr.

Though he now rests in the presence of the Lord, his loving spirit, laughter, and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Family will receive friends on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 1:00 pm until the time of funeral service at 1:30 pm at the Gregory-Martin Funeral Home, Steubenville Chapel, 255 South 7th Street in Steubenville, Ohio.
