Joyce Ann Williams, 68, of Steubenville, Ohio passed away on September 23, 2019. She was born in Steubenville, Ohio to Pete and Pearl (Motley) Shackleford.

She was a Christian by faith and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church under the pastorate of Bishop Jermaine V. Moore. Joyce worked many years as a Certified Nurse's Aid for Riverview Nursing Home and later she worked for private families. She was a very trustworthy person and was often sought after by doctor's in her industry to care for their patients. She cared for many patients during her years a CNA.

When it was time Joyce to unwind, she would bake. She was known for her cookie trays and had standing orders for most holidays. She loved to decorate and share her baking talent with others.  Holidays were her special moments and she liked to spend this special time with her daughter and grandchildren. She also liked to watch TV with her snacks and her nighttime favorite, Nick at Nite.

She was a very well-rounded person and had a tell it like is a personality with a jokingly wit. She absolutely enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, Derek and Derwin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Pearl Shackleford; her husband of 42 years, Roger; and her brothers, Roger and Bruce Shackleford.

She will forever be remembered by her daughter, Regina Williams; her grandsons, Derek and Derwin; her sisters, Charlotte (Jeff) Saunder, who she spoke to every day and confided in wholeheartedly; Rebecca Riley, Lavern Thorn, who was her rock; and Brenda Shackleford; a brother, Mark Shackleford; a niece LaShanda Shackleford, that was her caretaker for years; a nephew who she was close to, Brandon Saunders, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

She had an unbreakable bond with her sisters. Joyce will forever be remembered for making a house a home.

Funeral Monday, September 30, 2019, at 1:00 PM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 221 N. 7th, Steubenville, Ohio 43952. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 AM until the service begins at 1:00 PM.

The Burial will take place on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville, PA.
