Katherine Darlene Scurry-Conley was born on January 23, 1959, in Steubenville, Ohio, to Foster Scurry Sr., and Helena Scott. She passed away peacefully on July 29, 2022, at Valley Hospice Care Center North surrounded by her loving family.

Darlene as she was affectionately known, was Christian by faith. She attended the Emmanuel Church of God in Christ. She graduated from Steubenville "Big Red" High School where she excelled in track. She broke records for her high school and helped lead them to become state champions in 1976. After high school, she attended the Columbus Technical Institute known as Columbus State Community College, where she received an Associate Degree.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Foster Scurry Sr. and Helena Scott; maternal grandparents, Kathern Stovall and Sammy Scott; paternal grandparents, Estelle and Edgar Scurry; her husband, Robert Conley Sr.; sisters, Regina Maxian Combs, Callie Minniefield, Estelle Mitchell, and Evelyn Ann Scurry; brothers, Lawrence Washington Combs Sr. and Edward Carnel Combs Sr.

She leaves behind two sons, Lawuan Lee Scurry and Travis Sharod Scurry; grandchildren, Trinisha Blue, Amir Dallass, Awuan Scurry, Jasiri Jones, Kesaun Campbell, Elijah Scurry, Nina Johnson, Cienna Scurry, Kyran Busic, Ziarie Scurry, A'Niyah Scurry, and Brielle Scurry; three brothers, Foster Isacc Scurry, Glen Allen Scurry, and Howard (Marcella) Geral Scurry; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 6, 2022,  from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral service, 2:00 p.m. at the GREGORY-MARTIN CHAPEL, 255 S. 7th Street in Steubenville, Ohio. Elder James Wooden will deliver the eulogy.
