Kelly Rae Burks was born January 12, 1967, in Steubenville, Ohio, to the late Willie and Karen (Atkins) Claybrook.

After completing high school in Kentucky, Kelly furthered her education by completing a rewarding trade in Paralegal studies. She later worked in Home Health care and worked strictly with the mentally impaired. She found her role in her client's lives extremely rewarding.

Kelly was naturally caring and loving. She was also known to be very humorous with the ability to make anyone laugh. She enjoyed her special trips to have her "me-time." Kelly was very family-oriented and above all, she adored and cherished her family. There was nothing she would not do for her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Karen Claybrook; siblings, Penny Marks, Anthony Marks, and Darrell Claybrook.

Kelly leaves behind her husband, Eddie Burks; children, Reuben Strother, Shaleana Benson, Tia Benson, Dominique Holmes, Nautica Holmes, and Bridgett Frankl; her siblings, Katherine Hawthorne, Kira Holmes, Kim Riley, Mark Claybrook, Keith Green, Idris Muhammad, and Juba Brown; nine grandchildren; a special niece who was like a daughter, Kira Atkins; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear beloved friends.

Public Visitations will occur from 6:00 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 14, 2021, and again from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service 11 a.m. on Monday, March 15, 2021, at the GREGORY-MARTIN CHAPEL AND LIFE EVENT CENTER, 255 S. 7th St., Steubenville, Ohio. Minister Earlene McShan of Faith and Power Deliverance Church in Steubenville will deliver the eulogy. Kelly's Entombment will follow at Union Cemetery.
